JBay Academy was started in 2011 with a hand full of children being taught from home.  The group expanded when tutors then identified the need that some children preferred not to make use of mainstream schools and prefered smaller classes.

The school has grown today to almost 300 children, and consists of the various Academies : High School, Primary School, Technical and ECD Academy being served by 36 teachers.  JBay Academy has filled a gap in the education environment and at the same time provided job opportunities to many within the Jeffreys Bay region.

The Primary school moved into the right wing in Equinox Mall in St Francis Road, during January 2019,  with the High School following in March 2020. The school had to make some re-adjustment in order to function effectively within the center. Additional indoor sport facilities will be made available that includes Soccer, Tennis, Netball and Cricket.  Specialist facilities also prepared are the hospitality industry and also ECD.
