Pam Golding Properties – St Francis Bay
The river mouth this afternoon .. the river water is chocolate coloured, having come all the way from the Langkloof, through the overflowing Churchill and the overflowing Impofu.
The sea is relatively calm after three days of rain and big swell, and very strong wind on Wednesday very early. and then Wednesday afternoon and night.
The river level is lower than yesterday, and lots of cleaning up has been done today along the banks.
The damage along the Kromme has thankfully been way less than for the Gamtoos farmers and residents.
The dredger is still safe at the bottom of the pic. The river mouth is substantially wider than a few weeks ago, with the dredger having been busy at the northern side of the mouth, about 50m towards the sea from where it is now.
You can just make out the rocks in the mouth, a bit to the left of the middle.
More rain, wind and big seas forecast from tomorrow later until Wednesday, but hopefully lesser than this past week ![]()
