Welcome To Jeffreys Bay

KOUGA RESIDENTS SAY NO TO FIREWORKS

The Festive Season is with us and whilst most people are in a great festive spirit, many others are hard at work behind the scenes, making sure that the public health and safety is taking care off. These people range from Medical, Road Emergency staff and SAPS to organisations such us NSRI, Live Saving Organisations and SPCA personnel that are often  called out for emergencies.

Locally in Kouga, nothing is different. Many of these organisations has already had their fair share of activity. Enters 31 December every year and the community show their true colours and vent themselves on Social Media to ensure everyone gets the message. “FIREWORKS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE KOUGA REGION”

The SPCA ASSISI, with a new committee onboard in 2018, wasted no time and launched a anti fireworks campaign involving many local schools with a competition depicting a animal in stress as a result of fireworks as well as essays that were done describing what an animal endures. Local business came to aid and provided lovely prizes to the winners.

Jeffreys Bay has a very diverse community, but when it comes to animal care, they stand together and work together.
