Police are urging stokvels and savings clubs to rather use electronic banking systems instead of keeping cash in houses, following a house robbery incident in Humansdorp today. Today (Tuesday, 4 July 2017) around 11:00, three men wearing balaclavas and armed with firearms stormed into a house in Mjekula Street, KwaNomzamo in Humansdorp and held the two occupants at gunpoint. The suspects tied the victims with tapes and stole large sum of money before fleeing on foot. No person was injured during incident.
